HAILEE RASMUSSEN

OWNER | HEAD DESIGNER

Once upon a time, there was a flower-obsessed little girl named Hailee... and now she is a flower-obsessed adult whose father loves to tell the story of perhaps her most famous quote.Yellow flowers scatter the freeway median and in her curiosity, 4-year-old Hailee asks her dad to stop and smell them. He responds saying "Hailee, there's no time to stop and smell the flowers". And with the utmost wisdom that toddlers have to offer, she responds with, "Dad... there is always time to stop and smell the flowers". Hailee began Hayaela Florals out of a pure lifelong adoration of flowers and the joy they have brought to her. Since childhood, she has been smitten by their impossible colors and wonderful designs. With Hayaela she hopes to incorporate the same joy that this wonderful medium provides her into your homes and special days.

WHAT DOES 'HAYAELA' MEAN?

As a Christian, even the little details of Hailee's life are founded on the principles of God. Therefore, even a simple name means more than what can be seen on the surface.

Hayaela is a combination of two Hebrew words. Hāyâ is a verb meaning, "you shall be" and 'ēlâ means, "as an oak". Together it reads, "you shall be as an oak".

Oaks in the Bible are a common symbol of strength. They are sturdy, hardy, and excellent sources of raw materials that have supported mankind for thousands of years. They grow tall, fuel life around them, and produce many fruits [yes, an acorn is considered a fruit, not a seed].

The basis of Hayaela Florals is found in Jeremiah 17:

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters. Which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit".

In other words, Hayaela means "to be as an oak"; strong, planted by waters, unafraid of the heat, unafraid of drought. Unmoved by the trials of life.
